Official Corruption Federal Prosecutions By Region

The Justice Integrity Project is creating a unique interactive chart to enable defendants, the Justice Department and interested observers to research developments nationally.

 As a starting point, the chart below uses data compiled by Professors Shields and Cragan regarding more than 1,000 elected officials, candidates or fund-raisers identified in the news media as targets of federal official corruption investigations. The chart below arranges the suspects by State. Our goal is to create an interactive format that allows interested parties to augment official records. Ideally, the site will contain information on any charges filed, response by the defense, disposition and at least some limited dialogue (moderated by this site for fairness) to expand public understanding.
