Experts To Reveal Secrets of JFK Murder, Cover-up at Sept. 26-28 DC Forum

President Johnson Accepts Warren Commission Report in 1964
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren, fifth from the left, presents President Lyndon Johnson the Warren Commission's report on the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Smiling at second to the left is General Counsel Lee Rankin. Third from the right is former CIA Director Allen Dulles, forced out by Kennedy in late November, 1961.

Forty-four prominent authors, medical doctors, academics, lawyers and other research experts will convene from Sept. 26 to 28 to reveal recent findings undercutting the Warren Commission’s 1964 report ascribing President Kennedy’s murder to a sole assassin.

On the unique, historic occasion of the Warren report’s 50th anniversary, experts and surviving witnesses will examine evidence showing the commission was wrong about its core finding, that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing the president with three shots from behind. Polls for decades have shown that most Americans – sometimes well over 70 percent – disbelieve the commission, which was chaired by the late Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren.

Johnn F. Kennedy Looking Up

“Because of new revelations few serious scholars any longer believe the Warren Report’s core finding on Oswald as a lone killer acting alone,” said Assassinations Archives and Record Center (AARC) President James Lesar. His non-profit group has organized what he calls, “one of the most important JFK assassination conferences in history.”

The three-day conference, “The Warren Report and the JFK Assassination:  A Half Century of Significant Disclosures," will be at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bethesda, MD. It begins Sept. 26, with an evening reception Sept. 25. Find registration and hotel details at: www.aarclibrary.org.

Among those making unprecedented or rare speaking appearances will be: Alpha 66 founder Antonio Veciana, leader of the CIA-backed Cuban exile group that tried to kill Cuban leader Fidel Castro; and Prof. Ernst Titovets, who was Oswald’s best friend in the Soviet Union.

Justice Integrity Project readers know that the mysteries still surrounding the murder prompted us to begin publishing here last year a multi-part "Readers Guide" to JFK books, videos, archives and events. One segment alone has received more than 50,000 hits.

That work has continued. At the conference, I shall describe why the nation's unfinished JFK investigation casts a devastating but largely hidden blight over entire range of United States policy, most directly at the White House, law enforcement, other court oversight and the media.

Other speakers include:

Prof. Robert Blakey, Ed Lopez and Dan Hardway of the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA), which concluded in 1979 that JFK fell victim to a conspiracy by unspecified parties.

Among others are: Dr. Gary Aguilar, Russ Baker, Brenda Brody, Rex Bradford, Jim DiEugenio, Eric Hamburg, Dr. Peter Kornbluh, Robert Groden, Prof. Joan Mellen, Jefferson Morley, Prof. John Newman, Jerry Policoff, Dr. Randolph Robertson, Prof. Peter Dale Scott, Dr. Wayne Smith, Pat Speer, Anthony Summers, David Talbot, Dr. Donald Thomas, Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, Lamar Waldron, and Dr. David Wrone.

Dr. Cyril WechtWecht, shown at right in a lab, is one of the world's leading forensic pathologists. The consultant, medical school professor and former county coroner has authored or co-authored more than 40 books and 575 professional articles, including pioneering studies disputing the Warren Commission medical findings. He is former president of both the American Academy of Forensic Science and the American College of Legal Medicine, and currently leads the board of trustees of the American Board of Legal Medicine. The former coroner of Allegheny County based in Pittsburgh has performed more than 14,000 autopsies. In contrast, those performing the JFK autopsy under the eyes of fellow military men had never performed an autopsy of a gunshot victim, and kept no notes of their findings regarding JFK.

Five surviving members of the Warren Commission's senior staff were invited to the conference, including Howard Willens, author of the 2013 book, History Will Prove Us Right. None have accepted. Their only previous joint appearance was forum last fall hosted by Southern Methodist University in Dallas. All co-panelists and all audience members were advocates of the Warren Commission, and thus there were no challenging questions. All seven commission members are deceased.

The conference in Maryland will include a number of special events. These include autograph signings by prominent authors and film makers. They have produced more than two thousand books alone regarding the assassination and its larger context, plus many films and other videos.

Other highlights include a banquet Sept. 27 and a tribute the previous night to researchers who have died.

Also, panel discussions will analyze why virtually all mainstream newspaper and broadcast networks last year continued on the 50th anniversary of the killing their group mantra that the networks and major print media began immediately after the killing’s first day: Oswald was the killer, and acted alone.

Our 12-part Justice Integrity Project Readers guide beginning last fall (with links below) documented how the major media trivialized or ignored evidence that failed to point to Oswald, much as the FBI and Warren Commission had proceeded with tunnel vision beginning right after the shooting.

Given the importance of solving the mysteries, last month I began a temporary, part-time post as development and communications director for the AARC to assist other speakers, researchers and attendees obtain relevant information arising from the conference. Another special event at the event will be a dramatic reading by Brian Connors, John Heard and other well-known actors TBA of key moments during a pivotal Warren Commission meeting in January 1964.

Recently declassified documents show that former CIA Director Allen Dulles took a now-suspicious lead role on the commission.

As background, President Kennedy had vowed to cut CIA funding. Also, JFK fired the top leadership of the CIA in 1961, including Dulles and his deputy, General Charles Cabell, brother of the mayor of Dallas. It was a classic Washington minuet, with Kennedy awarding Dulles a medal on Nov.

James Lesar“Why does it matter,” Lesar continued, “that the controversy still lingers and researchers continue to demand release of JFK assassination records? Because Congress passed a 1992 law requiring that release.”

Lesar, at left, is a longtime advocate for full disclosure of still-secret assassination records. He continued:

The Warren Report marked the profound slide in public distrust in government and the press. And JFK assassination and those of Dr. Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy created a devastating political impact that continues to erode democratic government.

The result has been to encourage the rampant growth of the national security state in ways that have had profound adverse effects on our world standing, our economic vitality, and our personal liberty.

The conference will focus on major revelations in four million pages of documents released since the Warren Report on September 26, 1964, and on the importance of documents still suppressed despite disclosure requirements of the JFK Records Act of 1992.

OpEdNews, Revelations Mark This Month's 50th JFK Warren Report Anniversary, Andrew Kreig, Sept. 11, 2014. Sept. 26 marks the 50th  anniversary of the Warren Commission's report on President John F. Kennedy's murder. This unique, landmark date sets the stage to review the commission's findings, consider what many scholars consider to be a longstanding cover-up -- and thus provides a chance to reverse their damaging impact on the nation's government and watchdog institutions.

OpEdNews, CIA and the National Archives Thwart The JFK Act and Obstruct Democratic Accountability, Jim Lesar, Sept. 16, 2014. All records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy ("JFK") are already supposed to be public. That's what Congress intended when it unanimously passed the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 ("JFK Act"). It hasn't happened. The National Archives and the CIA are still withholding thousands of pages of JFK Act records in their entirety, even though it has been more than a half century since the Warren Commission issued its Report on the murder of the President. NARA's actions violate the law and its intent, and severely erode the principle of democratic accountability, on which America's government is based. This violation directly raises the issue of who writes the law, who rules in the United States: the elected representatives of the people in Congress or the intelligence agencies? Over 1,100 CIA files dealing with the John F. Kennedy assassination remain classified in apparent defiance of the JFK Records Act, which requires them to be speedily reviewed and made public.
